Error: "To continue the installation make sure the network control panel is closed..." or "Installation requires access to a resource that is currently locked..." when I install a Norton product
In the error message window, click . If you do not have that option, go to Step 1.
- Exit all programs and then restart the computer.
- Reinstall your Norton product.If the problem persists, go to Step 2.
- Press the + keys to open the Run dialog box.
- Type the following text, and then press .services.mscIf the User Account Control window appears, click .
- In the Services box, locate and double-click the service.
- To the right of Startup type, verify that Automatic appears. If Startup type is not Automatic, then in the drop-down list, click .
- To the right of Service Status, verify that Started appears. If the Service status is not Started, then click .
- Click .
- Exit the Services window.
- Reinstall your Norton product.
